Cuenca

Dont know why but i didnt do much in Cuenca. I arrived Saturday late afternoon and just walked about the town. I was not suprised to see yet another festival of some kind going on when i walking about - this time, Innocent´s Day and im not sure of the details.

Sunday everything was dead. More walking and chilling in the park. Mono and Vinicio where two lads that worked in the hostel bar and they were a good laugh. We went bowling on Sunday night and I was lame: only one strike.

Did a hike on Monday in Giron - 45mins away from Cuenca - but we only made it to the top of the first waterfall. It was too dangerous to carry on to the second because visibility was 5m as the clouds came in. Apparently, to get to the second one you have to cut across the face of a mountain which has no path and there was no way we were going to do that with poor visibilty. Some of us went out on Monday night and all the bars were empty. Stayed in Traffic (Mono and Vinicio knew owners) and had the whole place to ourselves.

Left yesterday midday and am in Vilcabamba now.
